DEAN and Hancho's Stint with MUCC Ends after Two Weeks

001
This may go down as one of the biggest stunts MUCC has ever pulled.

In mid August, we mentioned that after their running campaign to find two new members, DEAN and Hancho had been added to their ranks for an indefinite period of time. Their activities began two weeks ago, where the two participated in the above photoshoot, and they also recorded with the band on the B-Side’s of their upcoming single, “HALO.” Well, their time limit was ultimately decided today, when it was announced that they would be leaving after barely half a month.

The reasoning behind their departure? Well according to DEAN, after failing to inform his family that he would be joining MUCC, his mother watched the band’s special program on TV Tokyo and, after expressing her distaste, informed him that it would be best if he left. Meanwhile Hancho had no official reasoning, saying only that her dream had come true to become a member of MUCC, and she would like to return to her previous fan-status.

This comes after the announcement in previous days that both members had chosen their instruments that they would be playing –DEAN on shamisen and Hancho on shakuhachi. Now, whether this was the result of unfortunate events or a clever rouse to have some new faces and sounds for their new single, we’ll probably never know. But hey, it was fun while it lasted, right?
