Earlier this month, our darling reader Jesse sent us the following question:
Q: What happened to Rubi (Aicle) and Kaya (Kurara Zeroshiki)?
wondering about the activities of two indies bandmen: Rubi, former guitarist of 愛狂います。 a.k.a. Aicle., and Kaya, former vocalist of クララ零式 (Kurara Zeroshiki). And ever since Jesse’s submission, Ernie and the team have been scouring the Internet, trying to dig up whatever hole these two had fallen into.
A: Ernie is super saddened to report that no matter how hard we tried, no matter where we rooted for trivia truffles, no matter how deep we tunneled into even the most seedy corners of the web, we just could not find a thing about where these two are right now. There’s no information on any news site, blog, forum, database, webcyclopedia, or colossal cosmic infosphere that leads us to either of these two artists.
Kaya‘s run with Kurara Zeroshiki was quite short, so it could be that he retired from the music industry altogether, or perhaps he assumed a new identity and nobody has caught on. Either of these options is pure speculation, of course, because as far as facts go, Kaya has disappeared entirely from public consciousness.
As for Rubi, the demise of Aicle. was fairly recent – February 2012 -, so we may do well to be patient and wait for word of a new project. However, as of now, there’s no chatter – not even flimsy rumors, let alone reliable ones – about his activity since the dissolution. His Ameblog remains open but sits abandoned since March of 2012, immediately after Aicle. officially broke up.
Detective Ernie’s as disheartened to bear this (non-)news as you readers must be to hear it, and we won’t give up on solving this mystery, but for now, there are truly no leads out there for us to go on. (Although, if any readers have tips on either Kaya or Rubi, you are always welcome to send them our way!)
Nonetheless, super special thanks to reader Jesse for the question! Stay tuned and hopefully we’ll be able to deliver something more concrete in the future!
