A few days ago, Elm announced that they would be putting an end to their nearly 8 years of band activities. While there isn’t much explanation given in the announcement, here is our translation of it (translated by yours truly):
Thank you for your continuous support for Elm. Elm, who has been together since February 19, 2009, will disband at our Shinjuku ReNY show on February 22, 2017.
This decision was made unanimously by the members after discussion. We’d like to thank all of the fans, staff, friends, and family that have supported us over these last 8 years.
There is a little over half a year until the end, but we hope you’ll continue to support us until February 22, 2017.

Each member has left some sort of comment on the disbandment. We will publish a separate article with the translations of these statements.
Elm’s history has been a lucky one in that they have only officially lost one member in their 8 years of activities. Though guitarist Kei and drummer Boogie have only been a part of the band since 2013, they are no less beloved by fans.
Their disbandment is still a little ways away, and they have a few fun events lined up, including birthday events and a Halloween event. Check out their schedule if you’re interested in going!
