Unfortunately, I have some very bad news for fans of Versailles, and it’s extremely hard to post this. I translated the announcement directly from their homepage, but due to my own shock and state of mind, there might be some errors. However, I’m sure you all will get the general idea.

「Versailles」 Urgent AnnouncementThough Jasmine You had taken time off in order to rest because of poor physical condition, we received a report that early in the morning on August 9th, he died. Because of the extreme abruptness of this news, the members and staff are all dumbfounded and trying hard to accept this it.
As soon as his family has been notified and updated as to the details and we receive their permission, we will further report to all of the fans.
Moreover, with the current announcement, in regards to activity, please allow us to postpone it.

oh my god, this is indeed shocking and unexpected. i wasn’t the biggest Versailles fan either, so i didn’t even know that Jasmine You has been in a bad physical condition. may he rest in peace.
I love Versailles, and I was sad when I heard he was in the hospital… and now this… I’m shocked, I almost can’t even believe he’s gone.

Yesterday, a friend and I were just off in San Francisco seeing Hakuei. We were so happy, so excited, only to receive such horrible, horrible news last night. It was just so unexpected.
I’m a HUGE fan of Versailles. We were just talking about how wonderful it would be if, like Hakuei, Versailles could come visit the US and give us autographs, too.
I bawled last night. I cried a LOT. I couldn’t even begin to explain my feelings. I promised myself not to cry for this anymore. Let’s all support Versailles even more, as this is the time they need the most help and support.
I send my condolences to Jasmine You’s family, friends, and members of Versailles.

It’s been several years since a great Japanese musician in the VK scene has passed away, and it’s a shame that Jasmine You had to be the next victim of an early death.
I hope whever he is, he is shining brightly.

This…freaking sucks soooooo much. I’m not crying but my heart is impossibly heavy. I really love the band and all the members individualy. It’s really hard to come to terms with, but alas my favorite band the piass as mentioned in the comment above suffered several losses but it doesn’t make this one any easier.
I hope he went with a burdon free heart, and will rest knowing he is loved.

Ya know genius I had the same thing. Heck I didn’t like him that much while he was alive, but now after this I realize how much I miss him. I can’t stop thinking about him too
I can’t believe this… I’m on vacation right now and haven’t been able to read any vk news, but my girlfriend called me to tell me Jasmine died. I was in disbelief until I got to a library computer and here I am… I feel so completely sad. I love Versailles and loved Jasmine… I saw them live in Virginia. I feel so… down. I can’t believe this at all.

I wasn’t a very big fan of Versailles, but I still liked them. Best wishes and prayers to the band and the family/friends of everyone involved…

ppl that say “I’m not a fan” shouldn’t even say anything then, because it is real rude, disrespectful and incondsiderate to ppl that actually are a fan, because it like your rubbing in everyone’s face that you did not care for their music. I am a huge fan of Versailles and this is a very sad thing, I hope they do not disband! Jasmine You always seemed happy and loved being on camera, & he always gave great advice to others. They just had their official debut & I feel bad for the other band members to lose such a great bandmate. Rest In Peace Jasmine You!

To Suteishi, I don’t think anyone here has commented with the intention to be rude to fans of the band or the band, itself. That does not even matter in this situation. I was simply expressing that I am already shaken and saddened by the news and I can not even imagine how difficult this must be for other people. Everyone who comments here that is not a fan simply shows how loved Jasmine You was and how greatly he will be missed regardless of whether people enjoyed Versailles’ music or not.
That aside, this is definitely a topic that should not be argued. Rest in peace, Jasmine You.
I am sure you mean well lotus :3 thank you for your commentary, please do not take too, to heart the line of not a fan or not familiar Suteishi Many who say most likely mean that they are not too familiar with the music, or have not really dedicated the time to listen. I myself tho, am a big fan of versailles, and i have been crying my eyes out for three days now.
It is still very hard to accept that this event has happened. Many people in the industry, both artists and fan have been affected. It is sad to see one of my many inspirations go, and i will never forget the touch of elegance he seems to give his bass lines. But Jasmine You will always live on through the music of Versailles. My deepest of respects to a great bassist full of energy, who lightened up the stage along with his bandmates. Jasmine You will always be a member of versailles and more importantly a member/part of our heart. In this way we can say he is immortal, and in this way we can keep his memory burning bright, not to bring tears, but to bring smiles and that wonderful feeling when listening to the music of Versailles. Thank you for your contribution Jasmine You, and thank you for being such big influence to me.
i feel like crying. not ownly did a amazing man pass away but it happened on my birthday. WHAT KIND OF PRESENT IS THIS?! i miss him so much. R.I.P Jasmine.

I can hardly believe this… that the member who got me interested enough to begin listening to the band is gone. As strange as it seems, when a favorite musician dies I think the fans grieve as though they truly knew them, I know I am.

It’s been 4 days… It still feels like he’s alive.
I’m really gona miss how elegant and graceful he acts even if he gets goofy sometimes.
I do hope that the cause of death would be disclosed soon. It’s hard to speculate without any proof.
He’s watching everyone from afar, I know he is.

This crushed me. I’m way late for this news, because I haven’t been keeping as much track of them as I used to.. how horrible! He was one of my favourite members.. Rest in peace, Yasmine. I hope the rest of the band can find strength in these hard times.
