Back in May, we promised to give SLINGER a proper introduction when they find a new vocalist, but unfortunately it looks like that introduction may be put on hold indefinitely. Although the band expressed their desire to continue on without their vocalist, SLINGER, unfortunately, has announced that they will be going on an indefinite hiatus following their show on July 27, .
The reasoning behind the hiatus was not made clear in their official announcement, but one can speculate that it would be quite difficult for a new band to continue activities without a vocalist. Take a look at a translation of the official announcement (by courtesy of our own Shannon of S-T.net):
We have an announcement for all of SLINGER’s supporters.
We’ve played since 5/17 without a vocalist, and though we just pulled off our first sponsored event on 7/1, we will pause activities as SLINGER following our 7/27 performance.
Our revival and new lineup are still undecided, but we will notify everyone when we return to our roots on our official LINE and Twitter accounts.
Please give us your support until the end.
We apologize to both fans and staff for the inconvenience we have caused.
The Members of SLINGER
SLINGER’s last performance before going on hiatus will be at Ikebukuro Black Hole on July 27. Their performance is the last act of 『20150727-TOKYO-』, a sponsored live that begins at 16:00 JST. If you’re already attending, stick around to the end to support SLINGER! If you’re not attending, or unable to attend, send positive energy in the direction of the band.
Finally, make sure you keep on eye on SLINGER’s official social media accounts, as new of their comeback will be updated there. Let’s hope that we’ll see them return to the stage some day!
