Less than two weeks ago, we announced the lineup of MUCC bassist YUKKE-led session band Co’piryma Christi, who will perform at DANGER CRUE’s July 27th J-Rock Explosion 2013 華麗なる激情-Splendid Violent Emotion- Vol. 6 (Karei naru Gekijou -Splendid Violent Emotion- Vol. 6). This epic concert series features showdowns between established acts and up-and-comers and regularly hosts a session band composed of a mélange of visual kei royalty.
This time around, we assumed that Co’piryma Christi would be that session, and they’d be alone in that regard. But, if you recall, we noted when observing the event lineup a suspicious “and more…” tailing the list. Well, that has been cleared up in an unexpected way.
Did you really think that one superstar session band at an event live was enough?
DANGER CRUE sure didn’t.
girugämesh‘s bassist Shuu will be joined by vocalist Takeru (SuG), guitarist Kei (baroque), and drummer KENZO (ex-AYABIE). If YUKKE’s Co’piryma Christi left fans’ heads swirling, this collection is even more off-the-wall. At least with Co’piryma Christi, it’s now beyond doubt what their theme will be: an announcement on July 19 clarified that their performance will consist of songs from La’cryma Christi‘s indies “White Period,” plus an unreleased mystery song that will serve as “proof of how genuine they are.”
But there is no such announcement regarding “girugämeSHUU,” and the lineup is such a hodgepodge of different subgenres that anything is possible.
This last-minute addition follows girugämesh’s various announcements earlier this week, including a new look, a new single, a fall album, and a fall oneman to look forward to. It looks like the members of girugämesh are coming back from their hiatus with a bloodlust that can only be satiated by the screams of excited fans.
