Unfortunate news today–Drastic Will has announced via their official website that they will be disbanding this September.
It is always a shame to see bands announce that they are breaking up so early in their career. Drastic Will got their start last November and have been hard at work in the visual kei scene since then. They have performed various lives and released two singles, “Counterfeit” in November, and “If There Is” this past June.
Although they were just getting started, it seems that their vocalist has encountered difficulties that prevent him from continuing in the music scene. The music industry is always a tough place, and being a visual kei band is not easy. It is too bad that they have to stop this early. Their final live will be on September 3rd in Shinjuku.
There was an official message posted on their homepage the other day, translated by our own Bambi.
An announcement from Drastic Will:
We have decided to disband as of our final performance on September 3rd, 2014.
While this is not an easy decision to make, we have had to do so following a set of circumstances that were making it very difficult for our vocalist Xion to continue with music-related activities. Given that we formed late last November and have hardly been around for even a year, we’re especially sorry to have to relay this news to everyone who believed in us. While we’re not yet sure what we’ll all be doing next, we hope you’ll keep us in your hearts and won’t forget about us.
In closing, we’d just like to thank all of our fans and friends for everything.
