An Important Announcement from Versailles

An Important Announcement from Versailles

An Important message from Versailles was released on Kamijo World today.

An Important Announcement From Versailles:

Dear Enduring, Loyal Supporters,

We would like to announce that Versailles has decided to stop all activities by the closing of the year.
Being our 5th anniversary — and without a clear direction heading into the future – we have decided it was in the best interest of the band and the music, our staff and supporters, in order to pursue our artistic and personal goals outside the current framework, to stop all our activities by the end of 2012.

Since the beginning the “ROSE” has played a central role, both thematically and symbolically, for Versailles. The “ROSE”, which is also the title song of their 5th anniversary single, is about birth, becoming and being – in short, their story to the world.

The band will release their farewell album September 26th and tour domestically soon afterwards. On December 20th, Versailles will have their grand finale which be performed at NHK Hall in Tokyo.

Please come and show your support to Versailles and their final journey.

But people are saying this is a hacker’s doing… I’m really confused.

  8. Furansu_Nana

Apparently, the message had to come tomorrow, not today. Moreover, there is a mistake in the english translation. It is not a disband but a break !
    Still waiting for official news.

I’m so confused right now! I’ve heard people say it’s others just trolling, it was a hacker, etc.. But it’s up here and on Facebook (La Carmina’s blog), I even saw it on a GazettE fansite! I really hope Furansu_Nana is right, and this is just a break.. I would totally SWIM to Japan from the U.S if it meant this was their last year as Versailles.

Wow, if this is true, that’d be awful. I just hope that they’ll come back soon, because they’re a band that always made good music, during all of their five years.
I hope they can sort out what needs sorting out, and then continue. It’d be a huge loss if they disappeared.

    hold on people
    that is not disbanding
    it a hiatus

    • Adrienne

Can I ask where you get a confirmed hiatus from?

  12. johnesh

Well interestingly if you put the original Japanese through a translator it produces words like “pause”, “suspended” and “hiatus”, but the official translation seems to me to indicate quite unequivocally that this is a disbandment rather than a hiatus. So which to believe? I suppose it makes sense to go with the original Japanese. All a bit weird, though.

    • Adrienne

The word they use could be translated either way, which is the problem. I asked my boyfriend about it, who’s a native Japanese speaker, and he even said yeah it’s ambiguous because it COULD mean they just want a hiatus, but based on everything else that was said (final album and what not) is sounds more like they’re disbanding. They could also make it ambiguous because they may not even be clear on what it is. Furthermore, it’s common in Japanese is say something softer than what is meant. It’s not a very straightforward type of language (or culture).

Manager confirmed that it is a hiatus not a disbandment. She deleted the tweet soon after.
