This is certainly unexpected and terrible at the same time! Yuu, the drummer of Matenrou Opera, is taking a temporary leave from activities due to a herniated disc.
An Important Announcement
We would like to express our deepest gratitude for supporting Matenrou Opera now more than ever. Due to the worsening state of Matenrou Opera’s drummer Yuu’s chronic disk herniation, please allow us to let him rest from drum activity for the sake of recuperation at this critical time.
We are terribly sorry for worrying everyone, but Yuu himself is aiming to recover as quickly as possible, so we would like to ask for your unwavering support from here on as well

Matenrou Opera, all staff
<Message from Yuu>
I’m really sorry to make such a stir with this sudden announcement.
After coming back last year from an arm injury, whilst performing “Kassai Gekijou no Gloria,” this time I managed to further injure an already previously herniated disk.
I couldn’t move as freely as I wanted to, but had in any case firmly decided that I would not stop touring, and would continue playing until the Zepp Tokyo 6/8 performance.
And so, we performed “Kassai Gekijou no Gloria” without any mishaps, and after that, all of the members and staff got together to discuss the issue, where it was decided that I would once again take a break from playing the drums.
After the fans showed us such a beautiful spectacle at our performance at Zepp Tokyo, to have to tell you now that just like last year, I have to take a break once again, is truly painful.
There were many things being discussed here and there, one of them being that also like last year, all group live performances would be stopped for the time being. However, I don’t want to be an inconvenience to any of the members, so I asked that they “wait for me as they continue on with their activities.”
So for the sake of all of the waiting Matenrou Opera fans,
for the sake of the members who wish for my speedy recovery every day, and for the sake of our staff members, we ask for your understanding.
I’m really sorry to continue to worry all of you after what happened last year.
I said at the Zepp Tokyo performance that “Matenrou Opera still has many many big goals to pursue.”
It’s very regrettable that it has been decided that I will not be able to play at the rest of the upcoming performances, but I want to continue as Matenrou Opera’s drummer for many years to come, which is why I ask that you allow me to rest in order to do so.
I will participate in any work that doesn’t involve playing the drums.
And then, as soon as my body recovers, I want to take the stage once more and show you my disheveled hair while playing the drums!
But for the time being, Sono, Anzi, Ayame, You, and the support drummer will continue their activities as Matenrou Opera, even during my absence.
I will be happy if you continue to show your unwavering support for us during this time as well.
When we make a full comeback we promise to show you an even more powered up Matenrou Opera!
I know it’s a shameless thing to ask, but if you wait for me, I’ll be most grateful.
Matenrou Opera’s Yuu
