メリー (Merry) is releasing a new single on August 27th in three types. The single will be called 「激声」 (Gekishou) and there are some interesting things going on with this one.
Type A is the regular edition that contains two tracks at 1365 yen. The second track on the release is 「伊勢佐木町ブルース」 (Isezakichou BLUES) a song originally by 青江三奈 (Aoe Mina).
Here’s a clip of her singing the song.
Type B is a limited edition release, also set at 1365 yen with two tracks. The second track this time, is 「学生街の喫茶店」 (Gakuseigai no Kissaten) orignally by GARO (ガロ). And with that, comes another video.
Last but not least is the limited edition third type, Type C which is 1890 yen and comes with just one track. However, this edition comes with a DVD that contains the edited version of the PV for the title track of the single, plus a digest and documentary footage of their Many Merry Days performance in Okinawa.

Although I don’t listen to them very often, I really like Merry. I think they’re one of the more original bands out there (even if they are doing covers this time around) and they’re definitely one of the best live sounding bands.
I think the covers they’re doing are interesting, so I’m looking forward to see what they do with them. Any thoughts on what you’re expecting or comments on the whole idea to begin with?
