We thought X JAPAN would be making a move soon, but we never expected it to be like this.
Yesterday, X JAPAN’s leader and drummer YOSHIKI announced plans for a new project involving only women. “Lady’s X” is a visual kei project fronted and produced by YOSHIKI himself, and its members will consist of only women. Let’s introduce the members so far…
Oh, wait. There are no members yet. YOSHIKI has decided to put out a call for open auditions. As long as you are at least 12 years of age, female (of course), and have the ability to participate in band activities in Tokyo and around Japan, you are eligible to apply. Those selected will have the chance to appear in a visual kei festival (details TBA) and appear on national Japanese television.
Right now, the applications are sorted into 3 categories: vocals, instruments (guitar, bass, piano, drums, etc.), and managers. All you need to do is send in an audition video to the official audition site. The deadline is December 31, 2016, so you have plenty of time to work on your act. Results are expected to be released in January 2017.
For all the details of the audition, check out the official site (linked above). Stay tuned for more updates!
