As promised, here are the comments each member of Moran left in lieu of their approaching disbandment. All comments were translated by yours truly:
I’ve thought about what I want to convey to you thoroughly,
but when I write something, I end up erasing and rewriting it.
I think that’s because
all we have left are 3 and a half months.
I want to use the rest of the time we have left carefully.
Including what happened to Zill, we’ve had a lot of painful
and tribulating times.
I was able to fulfill the dream I first had when forming this band.
I’ve met a lot of people.
The time I’ve spent with Moran
is truly irreplaceable.
Thank you to all of my members and Holics
for showing me your dreams these last 7 years.
What I want to convey most as an artist is
something I want to convey from the stage.
Until the very last moment
I want to dream with you.
I want you to dream, too.
I want to see you.
First, I’m sorry for making all of our Holics sad.
I’m also sorry to all of our staff
that have supported us until now.
The 5 years since I’ve joined this band have been
truly fulfilling ones in my life.
Continuing on with Moran until now,
and personally, the loss of Zill,
are both huge obstacles that we were able to overcome as a band
thanks to Hitomi and Soan.
Even more, I think the reason Moran was able to grow so much when it became 5 members
was because of vivi and Ivy’s strength.
I’ll take on this summer’s tour with all of my own strength
so that we can continue to hear the voices of support
of our Holics that have supported us so much.
With the time we have left,
I want to play our music for even just one more person.
I hope you’ll stay with us until the end.
“Someday the spell will be broken”
What I wish for is to spend the time we have left with you all in happiness.
There are a lot of things I have to be thankful for and sorry for.
But for now, with the time we have left,
I want to convey whatever I can possibly convey to you on the stage.
Without spilling a drop of what I’ve gained and what I’ll receive,
I’m facing the final destination.
I want you to burn the image of Moran and I into your memories.
I think that whenever a band that has given you so many memories disbands,
anyone concerned with that band is shocked.
But even though we’ve announced it, the reality of it hasn’t sunk in for me.
I think that I’ll start to feel it
after the disbandment.
So trying to write some words to you all before the fact is
What I can say to you for certainty right now is
only 3 months after coming back from my activity pause,
I’ve seen the kinds of hopes our Holics have,
and I’m truly sorry for having to make this kind of announcement to you.
The times on stage we have left are numbered.
Until the very last second, I’ll keep paring down my soul as an entertainer
and burn our image into the memories of you Holics so that you won’t have any regret left in your hearts.
At any rate, the fact that I’ve established my style as a bassist,
the fact that my musical skill has improved,
and the fact that I’ve continued living on
is all because of my band members and our Holics.
I’ll repay you for this precious treasure as best as I can
so that you won’t feel betrayed.
Lastly, for both our last one-man tour “Itoshiki Sono Chi ni Eien wo Himotoku Houteishiki wo Emu” and Moran’s Last Live at Odaiba’s Zepp DiverCity Tokyo, “Yoake Mae, Saigo no Yoru ni Eien wo Himotoku Houteishiki wo Emu,” let me make memories for you as Moran’s Ivy.
I want to feel the zenith of my life here
and carve these memories into my heart.
In reality, as a band and as Moran, there haven’t been any big changes;
the solution we came to was to disband.
I’ve been able to come this far
because of the many Holics we have in Japan
and the many more we have around the world.
Even when I battled with the weight of reality and felt completely isolated,
“Everyone is here.” Whenever I felt that I was able to persist.
No matter how many times I say “thank you,” it will never be enough.
Because of that,
I want to dedicate my mind, body, and soul to both facing reality
and making a land of dreams with everyone until the end.
Until the last moment on 9/21,
with both members and Holics in mind,
I want to search for Utopia.
Moran has experienced too much
to put into words here.
Even while faced with a reality that I couldn’t accept,
even full of scars, we were able to press on.
That’s right, we were able to come this far
because of you.
Hitomi, Velo, Zill, Siza, vivi, Ivy,
and to all of our Holics – thank you.
Until the very last moment, I want to progress as the band Moran
with all of our Holics.
It’s only a small thing, but I hope that bearing everything,
we can become a musical spirit that dwells in your heart.
Finally, to all of our Holics again,
I’m sorry that all we can use are these common words
and that we can’t express it fully, but
“Thank you so much.” I am always thinking that.
Thank you for sharing your voice and smiles, for holding out your hands,
and for creating a land of dreams with us.
And thank you for watching over me, giving me the push I needed
when I battled with loneliness in the face of this world called “reality.”
Until the very last moment, I’ll use the colors and emotions of music
to paint your hearts with brilliant colors.
I’m grateful for the miracle
that you chose Moran’s music
out of all of the artists and musicians
born in the same era.
I love you, now and always.
