BugLug's Issei Moved Out of Intensive Care

BugLug fans and visual kei fans alike were thrown for a loop when the band announced vocalist Issei underwent emergency surgery for severe head injuries. As a result, the band has postponed or canceled any upcoming activities.

Last we heard, only close relatives were allowed to visit Issei in intensive care. It’s been a long wait, but we finally have some updates. It seems he was transferred out of intensive care and moved to regular care in the hospital recently. His fellow band members were also able to meet him. Read the details in our translation of the band’s official announcement (translated by yours truly):

Thank you for your continuous support for BugLug.

We would like to update you on the status of out vocalist Issei, who underwent emergency surgery for severe head injuries on May 7th, 2016.
Following surgery, he was unable to recover his memories fully and was not able to communicate verbally, so he underwent treatment in intensive care. However, as he is no longer in critical condition, he has been moved to regular care.
We received permission to see him on May 20th, and he was able to speak a few words to us when we met him.
The next step will be to prepare for rehabilitation by observing his recovery.
We will inform you of updates on his condition as we receive them, so please bear with us.
We will also notify you of our activity restart period as he recovers.
We are currently organizing the refund process for our “Re:GAMBLING JAPAN TOUR「-Encore-」” tour, so please wait a little while longer.

We apologize to both fans and those involved for the worry and inconvenience caused by these circumstances, but we ask for your understanding.

We apologize for the amount of worry and concern caused by our announcement a while ago.
We weren’t allowed to visit Issei until, finally, the 4 of us (KAZUKI, YUU, Tsubame, and Masaumi) were able to see him.
He would smile at times and his complexion looked healthy. We were relieved to see the Issei we knew even as he tried his best to communicate with us.
Laying down in the hospital bed, he reached out his hand to us. We held his hand and, though it wasn’t in words, Issei let out a noise as if he were about to begin a show.
It was just like BugLug.
It made us all think, “We’re going to do all that we can as BugLug when Issei returns,” and “Let’s make the best ASOVIVA ever when Issei joins us to become 5 members again.”
We think it will take some time until we’re there again, but the 5 of us want to move forward with all we’ve got.

KAZUKI, YUU, Tsubame, and Masaumi

S-T.net will also do our best to keep up with Issei’s recovery. Keep checking back for updates.

Thank you so much for these updates and translations! I’m so glad that he’s pulling through. The first report was quite grim and I was very concerned for Issei.

OMG!! So glad to hear that he’s recovering. Thank you!!! I only just found them recently during my trip to Japan in April and my heart died, literally died, to hear of Issei’s news in May. T_T SOBBB.

But may I just point out that the members are KAZUKI, YUU, Tsubame and Masaumi ^_^

The Kanji are a tad confusing at times haha but those are their official stage names.

And once again THANK YOU for the good news and translating the annoucement T_T Best news of the month I’ve heard to far <3
