If you’ve checked girugamesh‘s website lately, you may have noticed “last live” on the opening page. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s true. Shortly after their European tour, the group will be disbanding. If you don’t live in Europe, you can still catch the band in Japan, and we’ll provide you with the details below. girugamesh has had quite a successful 12 years together and produced numerous albums and singles, rising to worldwide acclamation. While a specific reason was not given the for the disbandment, the band is thankful for fans’ continued support. Below is the general comment from the band, translated by yours truly.
girugamesh was a group of friends from the same home town, starting from zero.
12 years is a long time, and in that time we’ve devoted and done everything we could for the band. These are our honest feelings.
We had many encounters, friends, staff, and fans.
Because we received your support and encouragement, we were able to walk these 12 years.
On the last stage, we’ll convey our gratitude with all our ability by making it the best live!
