2015 just isn’t the year for 2nd awake. Earlier, the band announced that they dismissed their bassist over embezzlement, and now they have more unfortunate news.
Due to a change in their vocalist aika‘s health, 2nd awake will be taking a break from the stage after May 20th. Here’s the official announcement from the band, courtesy of our very own Shannon of S-T.net:
Thank you for your continuous support for 2nd awake.
Due to the discovery of a tumor on Vo. aika’s vocal cords, we will go on a short live activity pause after May 20th.
He’ll be taking medication for a month at the least, and then we’ll examine his progress. At worst, it’s possible that he could need surgery, so we cannot estimate when he will return to the stage.
aika has expressed his strong desire to carry out all performances as scheduled and then focus on recovery, so please give us your support.
The Members of 2nd awake
This isn’t the first time aika has stepped away from the stage! In 2014, aika caught a bad flu and 2nd awake had no choice but to cancel the performances. But this time around, it looks like they won’t be canceling any performances, so attend 2nd awake’s lives and give them as much support as you can!
Let’s hope for a speedy recovery for aika!
