sleepyhead, who had plans to perform at 2019’s TEKKO in Philadelphia, has unfortunately had to cancel their appearance last-minute.
According to project leader Takeru, he was unable to get a proper visa in time to make the performance happen. He made a video comments for fans in English to let them know that though he is disappointed by this turn of events, he’s not giving up in the battle to see his fans outside of Japan.
On Twitter, he further explained in Japanese that it’s less that he wasn’t able to get the visa and more that the visa results didn’t make it in time. If granted the visa he applied for, it would have been good for three years, but the application takes a long time to process and it’s unclear whether or not he would have been granted it either way.
On the bright side, Takeru is using the extra time to work on a new project for sleepyhead, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
