We told you earlier this week that PIERROT had a big announcement to make on April 12th, and boy, were we right.
At 6pm, what flashed across the screen of Shinjuku’s Alta Vision was none other than PIERROT, here to say hello again. Their official homepage has opened, albeit with only this ominous and rocking video.
Did you catch that text at the very end of the video? That’s right! This autumn, PIERROT will rock Saitama Super Arena for two days of history-making sets in “DICTATORS CIRCUS -FINAL-“. Each show promises to be unique; the October 24th show is titled “I SAID 「HELLO」”, while “BIRTHDAY” comes the very next day on October 25th.
Tickets for each show are 9500yen. Regular ticket sales begin on August 23rd, but you can also sign up for PIERROT’s one-year-limited fan club Arlequin right away and be entered for the first or second ticket lotteries. (Note: regardless of when you register for the fan club, your membership will automatically end on April 12th, 2015.)
Finishing the video on the homepage unlocks the next step: an announcement from the band (translated below by our own Bambi:
On April 12th, 2006 — eight years ago today — we announced our breakup.
This is real. We’ve pushed hard for this. And this is the decision we’ve made.
With our hearts filled with emotions that no words will ever be able to express, and hopes too many to count resting on our shoulders, we’ve come through it all with eyes fixed on what lies ahead.
It is April 12th, 2014, and we are here to announced that today, the five of us stand before you once again.
This is not the past brought back to life.
We want you to see us, PIERROT, as we are now.
Kirito, Aiji, Jun, KOHTA, TAKEO
It’s been a long 8 years, PIERROT fans. Will you be there in October?
