The official statement, along with Shiori’s comment, have been translated for you below by our own Shannon.
Thank you for your continuous support for Synk;yet.
We have some important news for you.
Ba. Shiori has been undergoing treatment for malignant lymphoma for a while now. However, it has become apparent that he cannot properly recover while playing in Synk;yet, and he has decided to undergo prolonged hospital treatment.
So, our show on May 3 (Tue) at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM will be his final. He will enter treatment in hopes of full recovery.
We sincerely apologize to our fans and those involved for causing such worry with this sudden news.
We will continue band activities as Synk;yet with 4 members starting on May 4.
*We are not able to refund tickets according to this incident. We ask for your understanding.
The Members of Synk;yet and Starwave Records
I’m sorry to all of my fans and friends for this sudden news.
It’s been about half a year since my lymphoma relapsed. During that time I’ve been in and out of the hospital, discussing ways to keep playing bass with my manager, mother, and doctors.
But my body just isn’t able to keep up with what my heart wants to do.
What I know for sure is that I will return to the stage one day, in some way or form.
I’ll endure any sort of pain to get to that point.
I believe I was able to continue on this far thanks to our fans.
Now Synk;yet’s vitality depends on the remaining 4 members.
Please continue to give them your support.
In closing, my last show for now will be on May 3 (Tue) at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM.
Until then, I’ll give each and every show remaining all that I have. Please come see.
Shiori’s final live, as mentioned above, will take place at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM on May 3rd. Tickets will cost ￥3000 (￥3500 day of) and they’re currently on sale.
Be sure to send Shiori your well wishes!
