Hellooooo my dear readers! Ernie’s been especially introspective this last week, thinking about relationships and what makes them last or fall apart. Of course, this bit of fuzzy navel-gazing was influenced by last week’s question about bands we’d love to see return. Ernie started thinking, what makes bands (or people in general) break up in the first place? And, more importantly, what makes them last?
And Ernie settled on: tolerance! Of course there’s much more to it than that, but in general, we tolerate the worst habits of the ones we love because their better features overshadow them. It’s pretty difficult to love everything about somebody; whether a person in your life or a celebrity, everybody has some quirk, behavior, or tendency that irks or otherwise displeases us. But we are much more forgiving towards people we favor, and, by contrast, more critical of people we don’t.
On that note…
What’s the thing you dislike most about your favorite visual kei band or musician?
Let’s do this in the format of those “compliment sandwiches” people do in conflict resolution: Tell us one thing you love about this band, then give a criticism, then finish it off with another thing you love!
And no “I love everything about my favorite band” either! Think of something – do they update Twitter too much or not enough? Do their releases start to sound repetitive? Are their costumes particularly tacky? Out with it!
Please keep a few things in mind before you comment:
・ Be respectful of others’ opinions. If you disagree with someone, please respectfully say so instead of creating a fight.
・ Come back every week to answer the new question!
・ Share the question of the week with your friends. The more the merrier!
・ No need to feel left out – you can always go back and answer previous questions!
