sleepyhead, the solo project of Takeru (ex. SuG), is taking 2018 by storm. Since the start of the New Year alone, Takeru has managed to record 12 songs, film 2 music videos, hold his project’s first live, start up a label (STREET GOTHIC LABEL), start a crowdfund that reached its goal in just a day, and more. Now, he’s going to release a CD.
sleepyhead’s first album “DRIPPING” will drop on June 20 (pun fully intended). We don’t know a lot about the details right now, except that it will contain 13 tracks (all of which were played at sleepyhead’s first show on March 17).
“DRIPPING” will be released in two types. The Deluxe Limited Edition (13,500 yen plus tax) comes with the 13-track CD, as well as a Blu-ray of sleepyhead’s first live show and three music videos, and a million dollar orchestra collab pillow case. The regular edition (3,000 yen plus tax) only contains the CD.
sleepyhead’s first official tour will kick off in July with one date each in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. If you’re in Japan, make some room in your schedule to stop by. Check sleepyhead’s official website (linked below) for dates and ticket prices. You can watch a preview of one of the tracks “Meitei” (酩酊) on Twitter.
And if you’re not in Japan? Takeru still has a message for you. “I would like my album to reach everybody around the world and I would also like to play shows abroad. At this stage it is still hard to realize, but I won’t give up and I will definitely take on this challenge. Please keep supporting me.”
