If you’re a fan of horror games, you will realize that this is a promotional clip for CAPCOM‘s newest installment to their world-wide acclaimed franchise, 「バイオハザード」(BIOHAZARD, also known as Resident Evil). Additionally, if you’re a visual kei fan, you’re going to notice something extra special about this short clip–DIR EN GREY’s “Un Deux“. DIR EN GREY brought “ARCHE” to Europe, and now “ARCHE” has been brought to a different world–the world of video games! The result? Perhaps one of the most epic commercials ever, or at least for fans of both Biohazard/Resident Evil and DIR EN GREY!
CAPCOM and DIR EN GREY collaborated to produce a commercial, using song “Un Deux” from “ARCHE” to promote the release of 「バイオハザード リベレーションズ２」 (Biohazard/Resident Evil Revelations 2). The commercial began airing throughout Tokyo and Osaka about a week ago, on March 14th. Don’t believe it? You can check out the same CM on the video game’s original homepage!
Coincidentally March 14th was when we posted a Weekly Discussion Question about collaborations between visual kei and anime and the discussion most certainly can be extended to other forms of entertainment and media as well! What do you think of the collaboration here? Did DIR EN GREY help promote Revelations 2, or did the collaboration help promote DIR EN GREY?
