Here at Shattered-Tranquility, we do our best to provide you with up-to-date news on all your favorite visual-related artists. As the site is dedicated to practically all things Visual Kei, we never took the time to really explain what Visual Kei really is. Here’s the twist though: instead of writing a lengthy page of paragraph after paragraph, we though we would have you, the reader, tell the world what Visual Kei is, to you!

We have put together a project where we will create a ‘quilt’ of everyone’s meanings, but here’s the thing: We want YOU, the reader, to create your own visual secret, or patch to this quilt.

How do you do this:
If you are familiar with the PostSecret project, you are already there. We want readers to create their own image with their own secret, describing what Visual Kei means to you. Keep in mind, this is NOT PostSecret. The point of this is to let the world know what Visual Kei means to you in the least amount of words possible.

Here are the requirements:
☆ The idea is WHAT DOES VISUAL KEI MEAN TO YOU?, not, “Why is so-and-so good looking? or Which bands do you hate?” Be positive! You’re showing the world all the good things Visual Kei is and all the good things it has done for you.
☆ Use ANY photo you would like, whether it be a band’s photo, a blog photo, even your own created photo: be creative.
☆ The image should not be any larger than 600 x 600 pixels in size (images will be resized if they do not meet the criteria)
☆ If you do not wish to submit a photo patch, please feel free to type up a few words. No more than 100 words please. Keep in mind this is ONLY if you do not submit a patch.
☆ Be creative! Feel free to write your message in a different language! It’s up to you (it would probably be a good idea, so you can show where in the world you’re from and how many people are affected by Visual Kei)
☆ You may choose whether or not you would like to include your name and where you’re from on it.

Example:

Submission:
Use a reliable image hosting service, such as ImageShack or TinyPic to upload your patch and paste the URL below. If you are choosing to write a few words, please do so in the box provided. Please be advised that we will be looking at them and moderating each submission, so please be appropriate.

Deadline:
There is none! We want this to be a continuous project so that any new readers that stumble upon it may also have an opportunity to join in and no one is left out! However, we will plan to release the quilt in a week’s time.

Other:
If you have any questions please leave a comment here or send an email to: stquilt@gmail.com

There are to many people out there that se VK fans or Japanese music fans overall as just dumb people how just like music becouse how the members in the band look.

I have to say VK opend my eyes for music. It was the first time I ever feelt that the words somebody soung ment something to me.

visual kei….for me VK is a style of clothing, jewelries, music, walking and breathing that comes from underneath our inner. it is an expression of emotions and freedom that may seem insane to others but essential to us ….
