AvelCain has a pretty packed schedule for 2015 so far, so this unfortunate bit of news could definitely be considered bad timing.
On March 2nd, AvelCain announced that bassist Zen was unable to participate in a broadcast performance for that day due to poor health. The nature of his illness hasn’t been revealed, but it’s bad enough to put him out of commission for a short while. Read our translation of the official announcement below, translated by yours truly:
“An Announcement Concerning AvelCain’s Upcoming Performances”
We had scheduled a live appearance scheduled on March 2nd for Nico Nama’s “Visual kei Oyaji Hoshiko Free Talk Taidan”. However, due to Ba. Zen’s poor health and advice from his doctor, he will be unable to participate in the performance.
Furthermore, ex. Lycaon’s Mio will participate as a guest bassist for a short while.
Other activities including CD releases will proceed as scheduled.
We will make another announcement when Zen has made a full recovery.
We apologize to our fans and staff for the inconvenience, but please give us your understanding.
Mio has done support for a lot of other bands besides Lycaon, ranging from BORN to Dolce. AvelCain will surely be okay for the time being with Mio’s help.
It seems like Zen’s recovery is going smoothly. Yesterday, he Tweeted this:
“I went to the hospital today and the doctor said I’m getting better quickly. It’s a sunny day. Let’s look up and walk on.”
Let’s hope he bounces back soon!
