Fans of Mikansei Alice have finally gotten some closure. For months, Mikansei Alice has been working as a band one member short. Fans may know officially that bassist Shiori had been taking a break from live activities, and both fans and band members expected he would return eventually. However, that wasn’t the case. Here’s our translation of the band’s official comment.
Thank you for your support for Mikansei Alice.
We have some news about Shiori, who has been taking a break from live activities.
We received a message from him saying that he wanted to quit the band, and ever since we have been unable to re-establish contact with him.
With a 47-prefecture tour looming before us, we decided it would be best to continue on positively even in this unclear state.
We hoped that a year would be enough time to make things right, but we deeply regret to say that we have decided to dismiss Shiori from the band officially as of today.
We will continue on with a support bassist starting on February 28.
Please continue to support Mikansei Alice.
For fans who aren’t 100% in the know, Shiori originally took a break from live activities due to poor mental health. Shiori may be out of the band now, but the rest of the members seem to have no intention of leaving as well.
