It has been a long, sad, and hard wait for fans, but at last there is an end in sight.
Unfortunately, for BORN fans, it’s not the ending they were hoping for.
Fans may remember back in January of 2013, Kifumi, BORN’s Bassist, announced his temporary hiatus from band activities due to personal reasons. Many fans wanted to wait it out for good news, but there is no good news in this situation. Earlier today, Kifumi and BORN announced that Kifumi will be officially leaving the band. There will be no live, nor final goodbye for fans.
The following announcement was translated by Shattered-Tranquility’s Shannon.
An Important Announcement Regarding Bassist KIFUMI’s Musical Activities
We have an important announcement for our fans today.
Due to personal reasons, bassist KIFUMI will be leaving BORN after February 28th.
We are truly sorry for causing such trouble to both staff and fans who were looking forward to BORN’s continuing activities as a 5-member band.
BORN will continue on as Ryoga, K, Ray, and TOMO.
We still plan on holding BORN’s 6th anniversary live on April 9th. It promises to be wilder than anything you’ve ever experienced before, so please look forward to it.
Ozaki Tomomi, Representative Director of PS COMPANY
I’m very sorry for worrying everyone with this sudden announcement.
This is a personal matter, but I decided to leave BORN in order to devote myself to supporting my family.
I’m sorry to all of my fans that waited for me this past year.
The time I spent with you all is one of my greatest treasures.
I’ll keep supporting BORN now and forever.
Thank you for everything until now.
We’re sorry for causing such trouble and worry with this sudden news.
These circumstances are very unfortunate for BORN,
but we’ve decided to accept KIFUMI’s decision and support him in his new life.
We will continue on with him in our thoughts.
What we can do now is put on the best live and make the best music for you.
Please continue to support both BORN and KIFUMI.
Ryoga, K, Ray, TOMO
Some fans have speculated on the reasoning and wording of Kifumi’s original hiatus comments, believing that there was an illness within the family. Unfortunately, it seems that this mystery will not be solved today, nor any day in the near future. Shattered-Tranquility wishes Kifumi and BORN the best of luck during this trying time.
However, even in the most bleak moments, fans remember that there is hope on the horizon.
The good news is that BORN will continue on their planned tour, “ALL NUDE SATISFACTION” and the release of “The Stalin -666-” on April 9th.
In fact, pre-orders for “The Stalin -666-” are now available on CD Japan. If you want to grab a copy, go for it now!
There has been no announcement on who will become BORN’s new bassist, but when that information becomes available, Shattered-Tranquility will be the first to report!
