As you may know, Shattered-Tranquility.net is always accepting staff applications, but recently we’ve had a few openings in different areas and we’d like to look to our readership for newcomers! If you’ve ever considered applying for the team before, you’ll notice that our applications have undergone a few changes. We hope these are only positive changes and encourage anyone interested to apply! Technically, there’s no time limit as the applications are always open, but we’re eager to hear from you soon!
Shattered-Tranquility.net is comprised of a small team of hard-working volunteers with a passion for what they do. Many of us have forged friendships through our work, and love interacting inside or outside of the site. If you’re looking for a friendly, fun place to volunteer your time and efforts, this is the place to do it!
Primarily, we are seeking one or two serial writers to join our news section. Serial writers will consistently publish a minimum of two weekly articles, such as the NicoNico schedules we have regularly published. Guidelines will be very cut-and-dry, so serial writers will have a lot of direction for their pieces, but still have plenty of freedom to choose their content. The rest of the team will always be available for support and brainstorming, too! Details of the specific serials you will be in charge of will be discussed via e-mail once we review your application, if you seem like a good candidate for us. (Please use the news staff application!)
We are also currently seeking news writers. Aside from the information on the application page, here’s what you should know — our writers are the bread and butter of Shattered-Tranquility.net. They publish at least three articles every week, and what they choose to publish is entirely up to them! We utilize an excellent back-end communication tool to keep everyone connected and filled in so that the news team always has news tips, and there’s always information around to post. Of course, in the spirit of teamwork, we ask that everyone contribute to finding news leads so that the information keeps flowing.
Finally, we are seeking one or two additional Japanese-to-English translators. The duties of our site translators are relatively straightforward, and for those with high Japanese skill and low knowledge of industry terms, our staff as a whole is an excellent resource for feedback and support. We’ll help you polish your skills in written translation and build your vocabulary, and understanding, of the visual kei scene.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you soon! If you have any questions, feel free to send them our way through our contact form.
