Miyavi’s company – J-glam has updated some info on his newest release.
雅-MIYAVI- is Back !! With his first release coming up since going independent!
Ringtone downloads (Japan only) available from Feb. 24th.
On Jan. 1st 2010, 雅-MIYAVI- has announced a new record deal with EMI and the release of the DVD “NEO TOKYO SAMURAI BLACK WORLD TOUR Vol.1” which is set for release on March 24th, and the changing of his artist name logo to 雅-MIYAVI-.
Here are the details of the “Special Limited Edition Box Set” which will be released simultaneously.
The new song “Survive” will come in a USB memory stick on the “NEO TOKYO WRIST BAND”. This song was written during MIYAVI’s last world tour in 2009. Just as the song title suggests, it shows MIYAVI’s feelings during the strenuous and rough world tour.This aggressive new song “Survive” is a live studio recording with just MIYAVI on guitar and Bobo(54-71) on drums and is co-produced/engineered by Toshikazu Yoshioka (The Strokes, 8otto). This song is surely a new and intense reintroduction to the SAMURAI GUITARIST, 雅-MIYAVI-. You don’t have to be an enthusiast to expect a pleasant surprise out of this unconventional grouping.
The USB memory stick contains a high quality 24bit/96khz version as well as an MP3 version.
You can also download this new song as a ringtone starting Feb.24th. (Japan only) Don’t wait too long to check it out!MIYAVI will be releasing a best of the best album titled 『FAN’S BEST』!!
All tracks will be chosen by the fans.
To commemorate his fresh new start after announcing his new artist name logo 雅-MIYAVI-, a “best of the best” album, “Fan’s Best” will be released on Mar.24th 2010 !Songs that have been released from Universal Music will be selected by enthusiastic fans from all over the world.
The top 10 songs will go on the album.
Plus, live footage from his Universal Music era will be included as bonus tracks.The special web-site for voting is here.

How has he “gone independent”? He’s just signed to a major label, which is the exact opposite of going independent.

Wow, Miyavi is probably the second artist worldwide to officially release something on USB, which puts him right next to Ayumi Hamasaki status!
