Last week, X JAPAN unveiled their rock documentary “We Are X” at the Sundance Film Festival 2016. Leader and drummer YOSHIKI attended the event himself and gave a solo performance afterwards.
As if the opportunity to participate in Sundance wasn’t an honor enough, now the legendary Japanese rock band can say they walked away with an award for it. “We Are X” received the Special Jury Award for Best Editing. This will surely help X JAPAN increase their popularity worldwide, or at least show the world how popular one J-Rock band in the 90’s could be.
An official release date for the film hasn’t been announced yet, but you can stay up to date on this and more information by following @wearexfilm on Twitter. In the mean time, enjoy a video clip from the film at the end of this Hollywood Reporter article!
