If you’ve been following Takeru on Twitter since SuG’s disbandment, you’ve probably noticed that he’s been uploading mysterious photos of a moon waxing since January 17. The reasoning behind this has finally been made clear. Not only does it correspond with the “Super Blue Blood Moon” that took place tonight on January 31, it also marked the beginning of a new and fascinating project.
sleepyhead is the official name of Takeru’s solo project. They will have their first show on March 17 at Tsutaya O-EAST. Takeru described the 13040820 seconds since the countdown began as “hell.” He also commented, “I don’t have a clear goal with this, and I’m unprepared, but I decided to step out of the fog. I won’t join any label or management company, instead accepting the challenge to start up completely on my own. There are sure to be many trials I’ve yet to face, but I’m sure those will make me feel all the more at the shows where we can meet.”
sleepyhead also has a preview of their sound on Twitter. It’s definitely not a classic Visual kei rock sound, but Takeru fans probably already know that he’s a bit of a party boy at heart.
We’re just as sure as Takeru that it won’t be easy to do it all on his own, so support him in any way that you can.
