BRANCH disbands … but …

BRANCH recently announced they would disband through Kenny’s blog. They will perform their last live at Takadanobaba AREA on January 30th, and will be disbanding right after.
BUT ! The fact is that they also said they would be back in a new band together ! No need to worry (or cry), we’ll see them again soon in a new broom !
… but I come to think, why didn’t they just say “we’re gonna change our band’s name” ?

maybe they just wanted to have a very clear cut. that this is not branch with another name but a complete new band ^^

Maybe it’s some kind of record label thing.
RENNY AMY did the same thing and they’ve changed names two times now.
Didn’t their bassist or someone leave and that’s why they decided to “disband”?
I haven’t looked into it at all, but he left back in August… that seems like a really long time to hang on if that was the sole reason.
I agree with Nathalie, they are probably changing the band’s theme/vibe as well as the name. That would make the most sense to me.
Reminds me of the Renny Amy/D&L/Born fiasco.
