Fans who have been curious about guitarist Folie‘s whereabouts don’t have to wonder anymore.
On December 30th, The 3rd Birthday announced that due to a complete lack of contact, guitarist Folie was dismissed from the band. It had been going on for about a month before both management and band decided to throw in the towel. Read the official announcement below (translated by yours truly):
An Important Announcement
Thank you for your continuous support for the 3rd Birthday.
We lost contact with Gu. Folie starting on 11/22,
And we are still unable to contact him.
We waited due to the members’ strong beliefs and hopes,
But we’ve been unable to reach him in any way, even now.
Both members and management have accepted the reality that this is Folie’s answer,
And so, as of 12/30, Folie has been dismissed from the band.
We haven’t had one member change in the 3 and a half years since our formation.
We can’t begin to judge the current state of our members who played alongside him as a companion and then were betrayed by him.
We are truly sorry to all of our supporters for the worry and confusion caused by Folie’s selfish actions.
L, Yu-chi-, Tomoya, and I
Will not put an end to The 3rd Birthday’s activities.
We will push ahead more fiercely than before.
I hope that you can continue to give us your unchanging support.
Please support us.
Double River Record
Folie’s information has already been taken down from the OHP, so there isn’t much chance of hearing some sort of explanation from the guitarist himself. Hopefully 2015 will shape up to be a more fortunate year for The 3rd Birthday.
