At the turn of the new year, the members of Milky Emily put a message up on their blogs that guitarist Rinne will be leaving the band next month. It certainly doesn’t sound like a good way to start the year, especially for a unit which already has only three members. Due to these circumstances, MILKY EMILY will also be going on a hiatus after February 24th, though it sounds as though they expect to return.
The official announcement reads:
Thank you for your continued support of MILKY EMILY.
We have an important announcement for all of you.
At this time, it has been decided that after the February 24th performance at NAGOYA HOLIDAY NEXT
Guitarist Rinne will depart due to personal affairs, and in accordance with this MILKY EMILY will go on hiatus.
Furthermore, we will retract the two-month consecutive releases which we had had planned.
We apologize for causing everyone so much trouble.
Please continue to support us when we restart activities.
The following day, Rinne wrote in his blog on the matter. However, his band mates have not commented.
I have an announcement for everyone reading my blog.
I made the announcement at the new year’s eve countdown live last year at Nagoya HOLIDAY NEXT.
After February 24th I will leave MILKY EMILY.
I’m really, really sorry for upsetting all of you, who have been supporting MILKY EMILY, so soon after the new year.
I love MILKY EMILY.
I may even love it more than all of you.
I didn’t want to somehow break this precious, beloved thing which the three of us have worked so hard on together until now
And I always wanted to be MILKY EMILY’s guitarist.
But there are a lot of things happening in my personal life and continuing past this point has become a problem.
It was tough to go so long without being true to myself about it
But I have my band mates’ understanding so it has come to this.
About three and a half years ago I started MILKY EMILY with Sion.
When we started it I’d been out of a band for such a long time, and since there was a gap I was really baffled at first by the completely form visual kei had taken compared to the past.
But, each day was also filled with the happiness of being in a band and realizing my dream.
I was in charge of creating music, so the relationship I had has been different from the band I’d done before, but I did my best on the composition of most of the songs.
Thank you, to everyone who’s said they like those songs.
Thanks to your voices I’ve been able to stay until now, for three and a half years.
But after February 24th my MILKY EMILY songs will no longer be heard.
Until the last day I, MILKY EMILY’s lead guitarist, Rinne, am here, I want to make many, many happy memories with all of you.
Since it’s not all over yet.
I’ll look back more a little later (laugh)
I’ll do my very best at the lives so that, even if only a little, my songs remain etched in your hearts.
Searching for a free sky
Let’s paint azure dreams.
MILKY EMILY Rinne
It’s hard to say what the future will hold for the band once Rinne leaves, but we wish all of its members the best.
