If you’ve been following Twitter or Facebook closely over the past couple of days, you may have noticed an account named ANDROGYNOS. The mysterious first tweet only reads, “PIERROT, DIR EN GREY, ANDROGYNOS,” along with a link to the official website.
ANDROGYNOS is, indeed, a collaboration of the two visual kei giants DIR EN GREY and PIERROT. This is big news for a few reasons. First of all, it means PIERROT is officially reforming since their breakup 11 years ago. In what form, though? We’re not sure yet.
It’s also big news because, back in the day, DIR EN GREY and PIERROT were somewhat rivals in the visual kei scene. Both can boast Nippon Budokan status in Japan, as well as overseas collaborations.
The members of PIERROT, of course, have been active since the breakup in bands like ALvino, LM.C, and Angelo. We’re sure that fans will be excited all the same.
ANDROGYNOS promises to be a “project so big that no one has ever seen the likes of it before.” We’re just as eager as you to learn more about the project. For now, we wait.
