meth.’s important announcement

meth. had an important announcement to day at their live!
I was pretty sure it wasn’t anything bad, because all the members were extremely chipper in their journal, but you never know. “mportant announcement” always makes you a bit nervous, doesn’t it?
But never fear, it’s great news!
First, they announced another oneman live! It will take place on August 29th at Nagoya HUCK FINN and is called “IT BECOMES B.N.M TOUR FINAL ONEMAN「BRAND NEW B.N.M FINAL」”. The live will cost 2800 yen, open at 6:00 and start half an hour later.
The second piece of news was that on August 6th they’ll be releasing their very first mini-album! The title will be “THE OLD ONE ENDS,IT BECOMES BRAND NEW” and it will cost 1890 yen. It’s a six track album which includes the following songs:
1.NEW ENTRANCE
2.Just Keeping Me
3.HUSK
4.終わりなき闇よ (Owarinaki Yami yo)
5.change of music
6.GOOD BY to MYSELF
Source: OHP
I’m really excited! I love this band and I was disappointed in their last single, “by all means / BELIEVER” so I really hope that this mini-album surpasses that.

A message from Kight
Posted on May 17, 2008 at 12:48 pm (3 Comments)
![]()
So if you remember back at the beginning of the month, Guy’s Family disbanded without any notice shocking a lot of fans and making them really upset. Most people seemed to blame the band’s vocalist Kight. Finally, today we hear from him. He updated his journal with information about what really happened with the band disbanding.
Before I get to Kight’s message, I also wanted to say that Takumi also updated a few days ago, however he offers really no explanation and just says that he is sorry to the fans, thanks everyone and says that he did enjoy the band.
Kight’s is actually quite heartbreaking. So without further adieu here’s a translation of what he posted.
First, to begin with, I’m truly sorry for the way we broke up.
I feel that I should write the truth about it.In December of last year, a certain one of the members was talking about leaving the band.
At first, we talked about getting a new member and continuing on with our activities.
However, in the long run I wasn’t really eager to do that and as the result of really thinking about it, I wanted only the five of us to continue on to
the very end.
So then meeting, after meeting [us disbanding] was the repeated result, and the other day on May 1st at Shibuya O-WEST, we planned to have the
projector say that our last live would be in August at Akasaka BLITZ.
In all honesty, I was mortified…
I was mortified so much that I cried…
I was the only one who didn’t know that May 1st was our final live and we were disbanding…
In all the meetings we had about it I wasn’t involved, no one ever called out ot me and no one ever told me anything about it.
I didn’t know anything…
Immediately after the live, they told me that at that live we had “disbanded”…
As for the reason, in the message they posted on the OHP they apparently said something I was in bad shape.
I should tell you the truth.
Now, there’s lots of rumours going around about my physical condition.
I did not at all mean for it to seem like I betrayed you guys.
I don’t know if now after all this time you want to hear nothing but excuses, but since the “ROYAL HONEY”tour there was a huge change in both my
body and my mind.
I have a stomach illness so I was going to the hospital, and I was also going to a psychiatrist.
You could say I was really alone…
“Isolation”
I was so isolated that I couldn’t stand it…
You plan to believe that you have the same goals and are seeing the same dream, but before you know it you become separated from them.
Being powerless, I couldn’t repair myself.
The me who made Guy’s Family…
The relationships I had with people…
Within all those kinds of things…I couldn’t even talk to anyone…
When my physical condition was bad and when I couldn’t perform well at lives, I wanted to say something…
I wanted to punch something…
I’m not saying that I’m not a bad guy.
Because it’s my job to control my physical condition.Despite that, the five of us could have overcome anything until, as we had decided, we would disband in August and I’d decided to continue singing with Guy’s Family.
I wanted to properly say
“Goodbye”“Thank you”.
Even now I have nothing but regrets about it.
I wanted to sing more.
You guys are probably more vexed than I am, and you probably feel betrayed to the point where you want to kill me.
Thinking about it, makes me feel on edge.
I’m truly, truly sorry.
Saying goodbye like this is inconsolable and although I can’t easily approve of it…
Thank you for supporting Guy’s Family.
I honestly liked the Guy’s Family that we made with you.
Thank you.
And,
Goodbye.

On May 7th we posted a translation for the important message Downer had up on their OHP saying that their guitarist Miu was diagnosed with spontaneous pneumothorax, urgently hospitalized and would not be able to attend their first live.
They have updated once again, just to say that Miu has made a safe recovery. They apologize to the fans for the annoyance and hope that everyone can continue to support them.

AILE - One last DVD

Although AILE has disbanded, there will be one more release put out in their name and that’s a live DVD of their very final live. The release date is set for July 9th and the cost will be 3990.
The DVD is titled 「LAST FEATHER〜君が望む永遠〜20080509」 (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien)… and I’ve pretty much already said what I can about it. It’s footage from their final live that took place at Shibuya O-EAST on May 9th.

Random Fact of the Day

You know, how in a lot of the Expect Rush interviews they ask the artists what they would name a child? I’ve always found these interesting, for some reason.
But this one, is a new kind of special.
ANGEL-TAKA from Imitation PoPs宇宙戦隊NOIZ said that he would name his child TAKA Number 2 Special Space Meteor.
. . . (of course it’s a joke… right?) that kid is going to get killed on the playground.

Diablo News

![]()
This is a little late, but unfortunately I haven’t checked up on Diablo’s site until now.
Now back in April, we wrote about how Diablo’s bassist Kou left the band on April 25th.
… turns out Yousuke and Naoya did as well leaving them with just Haruto.
You can see what Kou wrote about it in the previous post.
Yousuke has said that there are various reasons to why he left the band, but his biggest reason was that he had strong thoughts about starting a new band. He does say that Diablo will continue on, apologizes to the fans and hopes that everyone can understand.
Naoya says that even though it was a short time that he was in the band, he thought about it on his own and reached this decision. He does apologize to everyone who’s been supporting him and says that he’s not sure if it’ll be difficult for them to accept or not, but hopes that everyone can keep cheering Diablo on. He does plan on continuing on in music, and asks for his fan’s support when he finds a new band.
Source: OHP
Well, that’s disappointing. From the looks of it Haruto will keep going with the band so I hope he has some new members lined up or in the works. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Separated at Birth

I think I started a post like this before, but let me start by saying Mamo from R指定 (R-15) is one of my favourite band members out of any visual band.
Now with that in mind, I bring you a brand new separated at birth. Sadly, when I saw these photos of him this is the very first thing that came to my mind.
Mamo. And a BooBah.
Since the BooBahs are so hot and sexy, here’s an awesome video for you to watch.
D on Oricon!

Now, I’m not going to post every single time a visual band makes it onto the Oricon charts, but I do think this is post-worthy.
D’s major debut single, “BIRTH” on May 16th reached 8th on the Oricon Weekly Charts!
That’s pretty awesome for those boys, especially it being their major debut. I know a lot of fans were especially worried that D would change by going major, but I’m glad they found a label where they can still be D and don’t have to make unnecessary sacrifices to both their image and music.
So yes… congrats to them.

A new book about vk

There’s a new book about visual kei that has just come out called 「さよなら「ヴィジュアル系」~紅に染まったSLAVEたちに捧ぐ~」 (Sayonara “Visual Kei”~Kurenai ni Somatta SLAVE-tachi ni Sasagu~) written by Ichikawa Tetsushi, who is known Japanese music critic.
This book is actually a collection of two books he has previously written on the subject, titled 「私が「ヴィジュアル系」だった頃」 (Watashi ga “Visual kei” datta goro) and 「私も「ヴィジュアル系だった頃」 (Watashi mo “Visual kei” datta goro).
I’ve never read the books myself, but from what I’ve read about them, they’re about the impact that earlier visual bands such as X JAPAN and LUNA SEA had on the rock scene and the social impact of visual kei. I think they seem pretty interesting… which actually makes me tempted to pick up a copy.
Anyways, the new book is 800 yen and you can order them at either HMV or Amazon Japan.

I was going to post this a week ago already, but I’ve been working waaay too much, so I didn’t have time to finish the post until now. Anyway — here’s an introduction to a brand new band again!
M.cry
Left to right:
Ba. ゆき (Yuki)
Dr. りょう (Ryou)
Vo. 皇 (Kou) ex. ミュール (Mule)
Gu. 亜怜 (Asato)
The band was formed very recently; they had their first secret live on May 5th, and they opened their site to the public on May 10th. From now on, they’ll be doing secret lives for a limited period of time, but you can keep up to the lives through their mail magazine.
I don’t know what they sound like, but I really like what they look like; they’re not that special, but it looks like they’ve really put some effort in their looks, which I always find a good thing among visual kei bands. There’s just so many bands out there with cheap-looking outfits and smudged make-up, that this kind of bands with nice costumes and high quality pictures always pique my interest even if they don’t look that original style-wise.
Now, if you’re wondering why I’m posting about such a random new band whose members aren’t from any known bands (as far as I know, anyway), it’s because I saw the vocalist live with his old band and he’s HILARIOUS. He’s got an awesome sense of humour. It’s a shame he deleted his old blog some time ago, as well all his posts in his ameblog when they were about to open their site, because he’s written some really hilarious entries in the past.
Once, for example, he wrote a long post about how he wears his keychains in the front of his pants instead of the back, and then one day he was crossing the street and the red light went on, so he had to run the last few steps, which made the keychains bump against his groin. He said it didn’t hurt, but felt uncomfortable, and that girls can’t know how it feels like but they can imagine how it would feel like if they wore their keychains on their chest.
In another post, he told about a crush he had for a girl in junior high school, but then at a gym class, he had accidentally seen that she had hair in her armpits and his love for her grew cold very quickly after that.
So yes, his blog is definitely something worth checking out. Haha.
If anyone knows anything about the other members, do speak up! I couldn’t find any information on them, other than what’s on their OHP.

Flashback Friday: baroque
Posted on May 16, 2008 at 6:19 pm (2 Comments)
![]()
This band isn’t as old as the two that I did last week and the week before, but someone requested them, and they are a band that really made me remember some good times in my life. Baroque began in June 2001 and ended in December of 2004. They were an S’Cube band, and these days they manage bands like Ruvie and Tokyo Michael.
Final Members:
Vo. 怜 [Ryou]
Gu. 晃 [Akira]
Gu. 圭 [Kei]
Ba. 万作 [Bansaku]
Ryou and Kei have since moved on to kannivalism, and Bansaku as well as Akira are now members of Boogieman. And an interesting fact that I found on vkdb is that all of the members of るう゛ぃえ/Ruvie were roadies for baroque at some point, as well as Tsunehito who is now playing bass in D.
This video I’m sharing with you totally made me cry a year ago when I first saw it. I’m a pansy when I’m on my meds though, so it’s excusable. It has clips from their last live.
Anyone have any good memories about baroque that they’d like to share? Comment, we want to know what or who you miss most. Also if you have a request for next week’s Flashback Friday, let us know and we’ll try our best to make it happen.

Arc and Dali - Collectors CDs!
Posted on May 16, 2008 at 4:01 pm (1 Comment)

If you’re a Dali or an Arc fan, you’ll be excited to know that two rare CDs by each band are being released for sale at CD stores such as Brand-x and Jishuban Club!
The Dali CD is their one track free distrubtion single called 「イタミワケ」 (Itami wake) that they gave out at their oneman on January 11th at OSAKA MUSE. The cost for it now is 1050 yen.
For Arc, they’re actually doing this for two different releases. The first is for their free CD that was given out on March 15th at their oneman at OSAKA MUSE called 「空。いつか」 (Sora. Itsuka) which contains one track and also costs 1050 yen. The second is for a DVD that they gave out also at their oneman called 「-Be addicted parade- Be addicted film - DIGEST DVD」 that contains footage from their lives on January 19th and February 16th. The cost for this one is now 1575 yen.
As there is a limited number for all of the items, they’ll only be taking reservations until May 18th.
Source: Brand-x
This is kind of a cool idea for people who couldn’t go to the lives but wanted the CDs… especially anyone who’s a huge fan and really wanted them. However, I think asking $10 for something that’s only one track and that was given out for free is kind of a crime.

If you remember, back in March we talked about Kriyuu’s most recent single「アナザーサイド〜流通盤〜」 (Another Side~Ryuutsuuban~) that was supposed to come out on May 20th. Good news for the band — the single is already sold out!
Due to it’s quick selling out, the band is releasing a second press of the single on July 2nd. The second press is 1890 yen and contains the same three songs, however, it also comes with a special live clip DVD.
The tracklist wasn’t available at the time of the first update about the release, so here it is:
