Cute, that is. Sorry, they don’t actually scream, but you might scream at how cute they are! While they definitely look like Maiko from DAZZLE VISION, they are actually of the UTAU vocaloid Hakaine Maiko that was designed with a “death voice.” LINE users and Maiko fans, these stickers are too cute (and some too scary) to pass up!

As the curtains rose and the lights dropped, the SE music began to flow, and immediately hundreds of fists pounded the air in rhythm, many lit by whimsical flashing LED rings. Throughout the evening, the occasional silence-piercing scream or guttural growl created a stark juxtaposition against the traditional and demure silhouettes of yukata and hair decorations.
Within literally seconds of ascending the stage, the four members of LOST ASH launched into the thematically appropriate “SUMMER,” during which the audience waved LOST ASH uchiwa – some even waving multiple fans in each hand -, creating a soothing breeze in tune with the beat. From that point on, fans diligently followed the prescribed furitsuke, pounding, jumping, and moshing in unison when the notes called for it. The layers of “SUMMER”‘s harmony seemed to reflect the layers of a summertime yukata, and the cheerful synthesized melody appropriately evoked that giddy feeling of rushing to soak up all the sun on the first day of summer vacation. Given the theme of the live, it was absolutely the perfect starting point.

In Japan, there are certain motifs that immediately evoke the image of summer. The persistent hum of cicadas, the mirrored burst and sparkle of fireworks reflected in a river, the flavor of fresh grilled takoyaki drenched in sauce and mayonnaise, the petrichor after summer showers. With watermelon and shaved ice on the mind, LOST ASH prepared to take to the stage on Sunday, August 3rd in Shibuya, for another SUMMER PARTY.

Boom from a new drummer, as well as two new guitarists and a new bassist, that is! A lot of you may have been wondering what happened to this band when two guitarists dropped out of the picture, and if they were going to continue or if this was the end for FOODED SEAL. Good news and new faces await you!

In the second time in as many weeks, PS Company* has another star band making headlines, and, once more, it’s not for wholly encouraging reasons. Recently, Alice Nine announced they’d be letting their relationship with the label expire, and now, fellow major labelmates SCREW are stirring up their lineup.
SCREW’s bassist Rui, who has been part of the band since 2010, following original bassist Yuuto‘s departure, has decided that he needs to move in a different direction – and you may be surprised by what it is.
For all the VK bands that come and go in any given month, every once in a while an announcement will come that can change the very landscape of the scene itself. Unfortunately, it has come to pass that the year 2015 in the annals of visual kei history will be minus one very significant and long-lived band: D.
Good news for Miyavi fans today–he will be having a double release on September 10th! On this day he will be releasing new single “Real?” containing 7 tracks, and live DVD “MIYAVI, The Guitar Artist -Slap the World Tour 2014- which contains live footage from the final show on his “Slap the World Tour 2014″ at Zepp Diver City, along with documentary clips from the full tour.
Great news for DaizyStripper* fans! After almost nine long months of absence, guitarist and leader Mayu is making his comeback to DaizyStripper this fall.
Fans were pessimistic, to say the least, when, last December, Mayu announced his intentions to take a break, citing a need to change. Although DaizyStripper continued as a quartet – with activity highlights including a summer album and tour, a single, and trips to Okinawa, Taiwan, and Ontario’s Anime North – fans remained in a state of heightened tension and awareness, reading into every sign that DaizyStripper was staring down doom.
Hopefully, now that Mayu’s back, those fears will be assuaged.
It wasn’t too long ago that Scarlet Valse joined the label Starwave Records, and they only seem to be progressing from here. Scarlet Valse fans have thus far had only singles to look forward to, but that’s about to change. You’ll be able to get a copy of their first full album “-GENESIS-” in October. Or if you really don’t want to wait that long, you may want to make plans to attend their lives!
