Dir en grey’s tour cancellation update

More information about the reasons behind Dir en grey cancelling their American tour have been released.
Oricon posted the following article on their website.
DIR EN GREY cancels their North American tour due to vocalist Kyo’s throat condition
The five member rock band, DIR EN GREY’s vocalist stated that his throat felt off, and they therefore they canceled their North American tour that was planned for next month. The doctor’s examination found a polyp on his vocal chords, as well as a sound impediment, resulting in the cancellation of their tour.
The polyop on Kyo’s vocal chords is severe, and therefore he will need to have surgery as soon as possible. The band’s management commented, “more tests will still need to be done”, and at this moment they are unsure when DIR EN GREY will be able to continue their activities.
In 2009, Kyo was hospitalized for chorditis and laryngeal edema, and they postponed both their Sendai and Sapporo shows. According to the staff, “Kyo does not have a strong throat, and due to the band’s extreme schedule since last summer, his tiredness accumulated, so he needs rest”.
This year DIR EN GREY, who are also famous in both Europe and Asia and were planning to have a tour from March 7th in Seattle to April 7th in Lousivlle, covering 14 North American cities (1000 ~ 3000 person capcity per show), will be celebrating their 15th anniversary. Among the live shows, in Dallas they had planned to perform at a venue that could house 10000 people.

advance by 666 will be releasing their first maxi-single on March 14th!
The title is “deep stroke”, and it will be a six track release for 1300 yen.

A’LETZA is a new, Nagoya based band that was officially announced on the first of the year!
They’re a four member band:

Their first maxi-single, “Awake”, is set to be released on May 9th. The tracklist is currently unavailable, however, it will contain 3 tracks for 1,575 yen. It will also include one of five randomly selected trading cards.
Along with the release of hte single, will be an instore event at Like an Edison in Nagoya on May 12th. For the event they will be working as staff at the shop for an hour, and those who buy their CD will be able to get it signed.
At HOLIDAY NAGOYA on March 30th, the band will be holding a free event in commemoration of their formation called “AMBIVALENTAL DECAY Vol. 0″. Then on May 12th, once again at HOLIDAY NAGOYA, they will be sponsoring a CD release event called “AMBIVALENTAL DEACY Vol 1l”. Tickets to this event cost 2500 yen, and all who attend to see A’LETZA will receive a special comment DVD as a present.

KENZI’s “Animal Agitator” Act

KENZI of The Dead Pop Stars and ANTI FEMINISM fame is notorious for some pretty crazy stunts on stage. He’s lit himself on fire, gnawed on fluorescent lights, scrapped with pro wrestlers, and rolled around on thumbtacks. Quite the extreme performer, he has recently announced a couple of shows where he will perform a solo act: 「怪奇!!動物ｱｼﾞﾃｰﾀｰ」 (“Bizarre!! Animal Agitator”).

Dir en grey’s ARTIST BOOK

A lot of fans were disappointed by Dir en grey’s tour in the US being cancelled.
It’s not the same as seeing them live, but you can still support the band by purchasing their new artist book that’s coming out on April 28th!
The artist book, currently titled “DIR EN GREY ARTIST BOOK” (creative, I know), 2500 yen. It’s an A5 sized book with around 200 pages.
The contents include a “super long” interview focusing on their overseas activities from 2005 to 2011, personal interviews with each of the members, documentary, live and photoshoot photos from their lives in Mexico and Houston.
The artist book is available for pre-ordering on CDJapan, but do note that there is an extra charge of a domestic shipping cost and service fee, making the total 4380 yen.

This will be their fourth mini-album, and it’s titled 「蜘蛛の糸」 (Kumo no Ito). Tracklist and pricing information is not yet available.

2the DISCOLAND is a new band that started at the tail end of last year, who will have their first, demonstration live later this month.
The band consists of five familiar members:

Guitar - 戒音 (Kaine) [ex-Alumiland, ex-VelBet]
Guitar - 四道 (Shidou) [ex-NaiL]
Bass - 智希 (Tomoki) [ex-ArecsiA, ex-Limit-0-, ex-BLACK LINE]
Drums - テケデ (Takede) [ex-HATED, ex-Harvey, ex-V-Family, ex-Shinsekai]
Their demonstration live will be on February 23rd at RUIDO K4, where they’ll play alongside EAT YOU ALIVE, TOKYO HEROES, DISH, ALSDEAD and Lucky13.
They’ll also be playing on March 7th at Ikebukuro EDGE. Tickets to that lie cost 3000 yen and went on sale on February 4th.
This month they are planning to release a demo CD, but further details are not available.

DAISHI’s new band, SIX

Former Psycho le Cemu and The ROMEO vocalist, KAJINAGA DAISHI, has started up a new band! Although his new band isn’t visual, I figured that he probably still has fans who have followed him from their Psycoh le Cemu era.
The new band’s name is SIX, and they’re comprised of five members.

Guitar – SUGA DAISUKE [ex-The ROMEO]

Cu[be]‘s free oneman live

Cu[be], who are one of the bands on the “NEXT INNOVATORS” compilation CD that’s coming out on April 11th, will be having a free oneman live in March!
The live will take place on March 26th at HOLIDAY NAGOYA, and is titled 「～春雷～」 (Shunrai). Tickets are free to the first 250 people, and you do have to pay for a drink ticket (500 yen). The show opens at 6:30pm and starts at 7:00pm. Tickets are available by reservation on 11th starting from 4:00pm at HOLIDAY NAGOYA.
On May 11th, Cu[be] will also be hosting a session event at HOLIDAY NAGOYA. Further details are currently unavailable.

MAMONO ‘returns to hell’

MAMONO have announced that they will be “returning to hell” in April.
The following message was posted on the band’s OHP:
We apologize for bringing this unexpected announcement to the world.
After our live on April 12th at Shibuya O-WEST, the members of MAMONO are taking the opportunity to return to hell.
The result of each of us thinking about what to do, we have decided that we want to depart from the human world for some time.

Tonight, the gates of hell will open!), and tickets cost 3,300 yen a piece. General ticket sales begin on February 25th.

Great news for Lc5 fans!
The band will be releasing their first full album on March 28th titled “Lchronicle”! The album will contain 12 tracks, including their fourth single, 『Only you～キミとのキヅナ～』 (Only you~Kimi to Kizuna~), which was used as the opening theme for the anime, 「べるぜバブ」 (BEELZEBUB).

Sneak Peek of lynch.’s Upcoming Live DVD Release

Have you checked lynch.‘s homepage lately? In anticipation of their February 8th DVD release of last fall’s “THE BELIEF IN MYSELF” TOUR’s September 4th final, 〜il inferno〜, at AKASAKA BLITZ, they’ve uploaded a preview: a clip of the full performance of “I BELIEVE IN ME.” I’d ordered my DVD so long ago that I’d managed to forget it was coming out this week, but now I can’t wait for it to arrive!
Things have been busy, busy, busy on the lynch. front as the band has been concentrating on touring heavily through the winter and into the spring, with January and February taken up by the FREAKS ADDICT coupling tour with MERRY and March seeing not only a oneman at Zepp Tokyo but also an event live with the recently resurrected cali≠gari and powerhouse MUCC in a revival of the eroguro underground of the late 90s, early 2000s.
You’ll have to stay tuned to see what this up-and-comer has up-and-coming. In the meantime, check out their schedule as it stands, and be sure to snag your copy of their live DVD while supplies last:

Releases and changes for Inugami Circus-dan

犬神サーカス団 (Inugami Circus-dan) has made an announcement that they will be releasing their last single and having their last tour under their current name.
The following message was posted on the band’s OHP:
A message to all of our fans
As we stated at our live, “Shinumade ROCK Tour Final” on December 10th at Shibuya O-WEST, we have an important announcement.
Now, we have more details regarding our outlook for 2012.
“In autumn of 2012, Inugami Circus-dan will put an end to our entertainment route”.
Inugami Circus-dan has been a lyrical, extreme, and underground Japanese style band, and with the announcement of a new album in the autumn of 2012, we’re also going to start our activities [in autumn] with a different concept.
As far as lives go, we will have an album release tour in the fall, but will drop “Inugami Circus-dan” and start activities with a new name.
Until then, we will continue activities as Inugami Circus-dan.
So first and foremost, on April 11th, we will have our last release as Inuagmi Circus-dan, “Koko wa Doko no Hosomichi ja” (single CD + DVD). We’ll also be having a release memorial tour, “Sayonara Circus-dan”, and this will be our last oneman tour under this name.

As mentioned above, the single is called 「ここはどこの細道じゃ 」 (Koko wa Doko no Hosomichi ja) and costs 1500 yen for a two track CD and DVD.

The event is called 『The Birth[day] of Creation～美沙麗生誕＆信仰者感謝祭～』 (Misery Seitan & Shinokusha Kanshasai), and each member of Megaromania will have their own session band perform. At the end, there will be a big session, to which the members of will be announced at a later date.
Tickets cost 3000 yen.
On the overseas front, they’ll be heading to Europe in about a month for their EUROPE TOUR 2012!

March 18th @ Leipzig (Germany) – Hellraiser
March 19th @ Utrecht (NL) – Tivoli de helling
And last but not least, the are releasing a single for Valentine’s Day called “Cynthia”. The cost is 1050 yen, but it is only available at lives or via the UCP WEB SHOP.
